Many runners’ favorite lifestyle brand just made bottom shopping a whole lot more personalized.
Starting today, Sept. 1, Lululemon is introducing a new design approach allowing customers to shop for pants by how they want to feel vs. style and size. This new approach, similar to that of many running shoe brands that are moving away from the traditional wall categories, make it easier for the customer to feel and look good for their workout, as well as optimize performance. To create this “feel-first” approach, lululemon is focusing on the engineered sensation behind how you want to feel when working out, combining sports psychology, training compression science and beautiful design.
The new “Pant Wall” in Lulu stores will feature five categories of sensations: relaxed, naked, held-in, hugged and tight (ranging from lowest compression to highest across the categories). Existing styles and materials will fall within one of these categories; in addition, the company will also reveal four new pant styles that embody the sensations. What’s more? Two of those four new styles will come in a pant and crop version, which really makes it six new looks to choose from.
