Taco Bell is now one of the healthiest fast food chains in America, but they aren’t publicizing it.

According to a recent piece from Business Insider, with the help of their dietician, Missy Nelson, Taco Bell has been quietly adding menu items and restructuring their offerings to include more options so their customers can choose to eat healthy.

The article shares: “There is now a low-calorie “Fresco” menu, a high-protein “Cantina” menu, and a vegetarian menu certified by the American Vegetarian Association. The vegetarian menu even comes with vegan-friendly selections, all of which can be found on the Taco Bell app.”

So why isn’t Taco Bell putting advertising revenue behind the healthy offerings? Simply put, they know who their main demographic is.

Their spokesman told Business Insider, “Us touting ourselves as a health halo – it’s not authentic and it’s not real.”

So even though Taco Bell will remain famous for their Crunch Wrap Supremes and value boxes, you now can make the healthy choice when you need a quick bite to eat.
