This week’s featured Project Start ambassador, Alison Desir (@powderedfeet), tells us where running has taken her as a blogger, an endurance athlete, a mental health advocate and a community organizer.

Alison offers this advice to women who are just getting started with running:

“Be really gentle with yourself. Starting might mean running a block and walking a block. You’re not gonna get up one day and run a 5K.”

Thanks for this wisdom, and for sharing your story with us, Alison!
