On occasion, I enjoy posting quotes from real women runners. Whether barely a beginner, an experienced elite, or any level in between, all of us gals are bound together by the common themes of our running experience. – Holly Bennett
What do I get out of running? Sanity! Pure and simple. I laugh, cry, problem solve, disconnect … whatever is needed in that moment. I always, always remind myself – particularly on the days it is hard to get out the door – that it is a privilege to be able to run, never an obligation. I run because I can. Because I choose to. I run a mile of every run thinking about someone in my life who would like to run but can’t. Today that mile was all about a friend fighting his 2nd cancer…yesterday for my Gramma’s boyfriend who just got out of the hospital.
