On occasion, I enjoy posting quotes from real women
runners. Whether barely a beginner, an experienced elite, or any level in
between, all of us gals are bound together by the common themes of our running
experience.
Running is my one
constant – the sanity to the chaos in my life. It keeps me whole. It grounds me
and allows me to define who I am. I can run as fast or as slow as I want; as
long or as short. No one tells me how or when to run. I define my running and
because of that my running defines me.
I think about everything and anything when I run. There are some days where I
focus on prioritizing the many tasks that are waiting for me when I stop my
watch. There are some days where I get so lost during my 60-minute escape that
I forget that the world has continued on without me. The best part about
running is that you don’t have to think at all if you don’t want to.
