Welcome, Weekend!

I feel as though we’re getting a double dose of summer here in Boulder. Temperatures have hovered at or near 90 degrees for a few weeks now, and this Saturday and Sunday are expected to hit the high 90’s. I love running in all sorts of weather, but none so much as the blaring heat of a sunny summer day. In a perfect coincidence of timing, I plan to race a 10k on Sunday – the E-Race Loneliness 10k in Denver. The race is a benefit for Bessie’s Hope, an organization that serves both at-risk youth and nursing home elders. I’ve been digging through local event calendars to find 5k and 10k races that suit my schedule, and while my initial impetus for racing was purely personal, I’m especially excited that this event has a meaningful connection to two groups that are often neglected.

It should be a wonderful weekend, for a number of reasons. I hope you enjoy yours!
