12 miles @ 10:00 min/mile pace

This long run was made possible thanks to two of my favorite products: Newton running shoes and my Fuel Belt. I’m digging the latest color of Newton’s Gravity model (and to think three years ago I didn’t want to run in anything that wasn’t white!). The bright colors make me happy, while the technology behind the shoes keeps me injury free.

During last week’s long run I totally bonked during the last two miles. I knew I’d made a mistake by not carrying hydration and nutrition during that run and wanted to avoid a repeat performance. This week I carried my Fuel Belt with water, gatorade and my favorite chomps. Though 12 miles still felt a little tough, having the belt helped me stay fueled to avoid “the wall.”
