Editor’s Corner: The Olympics Are Coming!

You’re probably aware of this, but just in case you forgot.

THE OLYMPICS START TONIGHT!!!

I’m a little excited. Aren’t you?

The finest athletes in the world competing at the highest level is a pretty special thing. Plus, the fact that the Olympics only come around once every four years makes them extra special, and makes me feel like I have an excuse to go completely nuts about them. Here’s how I will be celebrating tomorrow:

1. Getting my race on

I don’t know about you, but watching competition always makes me hungry to get in the game. Thankfully, I found a local 5k on Friday evening to get the racing itch out of my system before the Opening Ceremonies start.

This might now be an Olympic track, but it should do the trick.

2. Red, white & blue running gear

A no-brainier for the race

3. Opening Ceremony viewing party

“Party” is a strong word, but I will be enjoying the ceremony with running buddies. Being surrounded by fellow fanatics makes watching twice as fun.

4. Cupcakes!

I love the idea of arranging the M&M’s like the Olympic rings.
