Today was an Off Day — finally! Spent it eating, not hydrating as much as I should have and watching my youngest daughter’s swim meet. Was setting myself up for a great week, until I felt my gut protesting the way it does when I mistakenly eat gluten. I have celiac disease and avoid gluten, or suffer the consequences — usually an upset stomach (code for near debilitating gas and diarrhea), bloating, brain fog and lethargy. My best guess was that the gluten-free kitchen sink muffin I inhaled for breakfast, may have had some gluten in it too. Should have known, it tasted too good.

Thankfully I was already in recovery mode, so my hope is that with a good night’s rest, plenty of water, probiotics, digestive enzymes and some bland food, I won’t start the week at too much of a deficit.
