It was a perfect day for racing at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Portland Half Marathon. The course, which crossed the Willamette River twice, wound through the city, including the eclectic neighborhoods of East Portland. One in five participants at this year’s event were running their first half marathon!

The winner of the women’s race was Portland resident Susan Smith, with a time of 1:21:52. The 22-year old will be running the Suja Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon later this month and hopes to snag an Olympic ‘B’ qualifying time (2:43) for the marathon trials.

Rock band Portugal. The Man headlined the Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series post-race.

Check out some amazing photos from the day!
