Sweet Dreams with SHEEX

Heading out the door? Read this article on the new Outside+ app available now on iOS devices for members! Download the app.

Anyone who struggles with insomnia knows the debilitating challenge of sleep deprivation. Simply put, lack of proper sleep wreaks havoc with both mental and physical functioning. I know this firsthand, having been awakened by an overactive mind at 4:00am and now double-checking to be sure I’m typing cohesive sentences! That’s why I believe the women behind SHEEX luxury performance bed sheets are onto something brilliant.

The SHEEX brand is the brainchild of two former women’s basketball coaches at the University of South Carolina, Susan Walvius and Michelle Marciniak. Well aware of the benefits of high-tech fabrics in athletic apparel, Walvius and Marciniak bridged the gap to better bedding with the SHEEX concept. SHEEX sheets are luxuriously soft and silky, yet their performance fabric transfers body heat twice as effectively as cotton, wicking moisture away from your skin and allowing you a cool, comfortable and restorative night’s sleep. SHEEX approaches the recovery concept at its core, focusing on the connection between proper rest and prime performance. I think any excuse to pamper oneself with luxury bedding is a good one – obviously the benefits built into SHEEX’ fabric is an added plus!
