DNA Loft Launches Today
Announced less than a year after the new DNA Amp midsole technology, which delivers the highest energy return in a Brooks shoe, the brand announced this week the launch of another revolutionary midsole compound, DNA Loft. Maintaining the signature DNA midsole qualities, DNA Loft provides a softer and more protected experience, thanks to its unique blend of ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), rubber and air.
“We heard from runners that they are looking for a supremely cushioned experience but don’t want any extra weight holding them back,” said Carson Caprara, Brooks Running’s director of global product line management, in a press release. “With DNA Loft, we created a new way to blend our foam so that it delivers on-demand cushioning without added weight or bulk, providing runners with a comfortable and protected ride.”
Brooks describes the shoe as “plush and protective,” saying that it adapts to the runners’ individual stride, weight and speed while providing a softer and more protected experience.
Brooks is rolling out DNA Loft in these shoes:
- Glycerin 16 (available June 1, $150)
- Ghost 11 (available June 26, $120)
DNA Amp, the polyurethane-based cushioning system that provides high energy return and was announced last September, will be available in these shoes:
- Levitate 2 (available June 26, $150)
- Bedlam (available Sept. 1, $150)
- Ricochet (available Oct. 1, $120)
