Feel-Good Fleece

Heading out the door? Read this article on the new Outside+ app available now on iOS devices for members! Download the app.

Fleece_2Gore-Tex is known as the brand “guaranteed to keep you dry.” This October they’re exposing their softer side. “Give a Warm Fuzzy, Get a Warm Fuzzy” is a new program launching online to raise awareness and support for three respected outdoor charities and W.L. Gore’s newest Windstopper fleece. The warm and fuzzy Windstopper is so soft and snuggly you won’t believe it’s truly performance-worthy. But it is.

Register on the site, and Gore will make a donation on your behalf to one of the three charities: Big City Mountaineers, Continental Divide Trail Alliance, or the Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition. Generate more “points” for your chosen charity by playing an educational game, inviting friends to join, and/or by donating $10, $20 or $25 directly. The charity with the most points by December 15, 2008, will receive the fattest cash roll from Gore. As a bonus, participating donors get a chance to win free Windstopper warm and fuzzy products such as scarves, gaiters and jackets, as well as T-shirts. Winners score their loot at the end of the program.
