Running-wear philosophy: Cute and comfortable—I never hide my body in baggy sweats.

A fitness lover, Cece Olisa has always been game to try it all, whether that means boot camp, recreational sports, yoga, swimming—you name it. But the 29-year-old says, until recently, running was one activity she never considered. “Growing up, in P.E. class, running was all about speed and how many laps we could do. I don’t think I ever let go of that idea.”

What changed the game for Olisa was discovering the Couch to 5K app. She tried it in a pinch while traveling and realized that running didn’t have to be about competing with others. “Suddenly, it was all about me! My  personal best. I loved it!”

She has now finished her first 5K and is gearing up for another next fall. She frequents Manhattan’s East River Park and shares her workouts and fashion tips on her blog, Plus Size Princess. The site grew out of a passion project Olisa cultivated in her free time between musical theater auditions and work. She explains, “If you’re body positive and love fashion, fitness, dating and living an awesome life, this is the place for you.”
