Team WR highlights some of the exciting new apparel and shoes that'll be on the market for runners in 2018.
Diadora is a name we typically associate with soccer cleats, but the Italy-based brand is making a big push into the U.S. Marked by high-quality design and manufacturing (30 percent of products are still made in northern Italy) and still a family-owned company, the Diadora line features unique, thoughtful designs in both its run shoes and run apparel.

Team WR had a blast checking out all of the new shoes, apparel, nutrition, hydration and safety gear at The Running Event 2017 in Austin, Texas! Browse the photo gallery below to see some of the new shoes and apparel we’re most excited about for 2018.
WrightSock features socks that all have a double layer, which means that they guarantee no blisters on your runs, as all the friction and heat gets trapped between the layers instead of on your skin.
We love the logo and style of Rabbit, which was founded by two women and launched to consumers just last year. All products are made in the U.S. (in L.A.) and are designed based on feedback from a team of runner testers.
BOA is showing up on more and more shoes every year. The clever closure system uses steel wires or textile cords to help you dial in your perfect fit. The system started in snowboard boots, is now on about 60 percent of cycling shoes and has now made its way into running. Partnering with brands such as New Balance, Asics, Under Armour and Merrell, you can find them on all types of running shoes from track spikes to trail shoes. We love the look of the New Balance 1500 T2, which debuts in January and will retail for $130.
We featured the Headsweats collection of National Parks trucker hats in our magazine earlier this year, and we’re excited to learn that the company is expanding the line—it recently add the Grand Tetons and Glacier National Park designs, and hopes to continue expanding to include every U.S. National Park. From the sale of every hat, 20 percent goes toward the National Park Foundation.
ENELL is a brand that’s been featured in Women’s Running before, thanks to the running support it provides to women with C cups and above. But we do know that those high-support bras are also not the sleekest looking, which is why the brand is coming out with a racerback-style in this fun print to fit under racerback run tanks.
While you may associate Body Glove with rash guards and cute swimsuits, the brand is trying to make its mark in the run space with an entire line of activewear. We found the prints and cuts bold and eye-catching, and some of them are even made with the swimsuit material so that you can wear them for a beach run!
Cotopaxi, a relatively new brand (with a cute llama logo), makes a line of active lifestyle apparel, including colorful windbreakers, lined shorts and color-blocked bags–all from repurposed materials sourced from the Philippines. The bags (apparently a Ragnar favorite) are popular because no two are exactly alike. Bonus when you buy from this company: 2 percent of topline revenue is donated to global poverty initiatives.
Our two favorite things about Darn Tough Vermont socks are that they’re made in the U.S. (the family-owned company is based out of Vermont, and the mill is just steps away from the headquarters) and they feature a lifetime unconditional guarantee. Wear a hole in them on your 50-miler? No problem! They’ll send you a replacement pair. Made from merino wool, the brand recently launched a line of graduated, light compression socks for women, and they also have some fun new designs in their running and lifestyle collections.
