What’s Happening at the 2022 LA Marathon

There is a brand-new finish line this year. The marathon will begin at Dodger Stadium and finish at Avenue of the Stars in Century City. The change is meant to allow for a more exciting finish line experience and provide the best opportunity for more spectator participation.

The Gender Challenge is back in 2022. Officially called the Quincy Cass Associates Marathon Challenge, the LA marathon did something similar from 2004 to 2014. A small group of elite women will start the race early and the elite men will follow, trying to make up the gap. The first athlete, male or female, to cross the finish line will receive a monetary bonus in addition to the regular prize money. Historically, women have won the challenge 7 out of 11  times.
