Runner’s Seminar Series Presented By Women’s Running
Women’s Running is excited to announce that it will be the presenting sponsor of a two-day seminar series at the John Hancock Sports & Fitness Expo at the Boston Marathon. Taking place on Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15, the seminar series will feature several speakers from the professional running world, including Deena Kastor, Neely Spence Gracey, Amby Burfoot, Dave McGillivray, Bobbi Gibb, Kathrine Switzer, Jonathan Beverly, Roisin McGettigan-Dumas, and Dick and Rick Hoyt. “Women are the present and future of endurance sports,” said Rebecca Warren, editor-in-chief of Women’s Running. “We’re excited to bring thought-provoking speakers to the Boston seminar series and are thrilled to offer women a friendly face in the crowds during race weekend.”

Speakers: Jacqueline Hansen, 1973; Sara Mae Berman, 1969, ’70 and ’71; Geoff Smith, 1984 and ’85; Jack Fultz, 1976 and other Boston champions share their stories of training and triumph in the Boston Marathon.
11–11:45 a.m.: Reflections from Past Champions – Class of 1968

12–12:45 p.m.: Pushing Boundaries: Insight from an Elite Runner on What it Takes to Succeed
Elite American marathoner Jordan Hasay gives runners an exclusive look into her past and present with a showing of her bio documentary, Boundaries, followed by a live Q&A focused on the Boston Marathon experience.
1–1:45 p.m.: Boston Marathon Race Management Team: Course Preview and Q&A
Boston Marathon Race Director Dave McGillivray and B.A.A. Director of Operations Doug Flannery give a course preview and highlight helpful hints as runners make their final race preparations.
2–2:45 p.m.: History of the Women’s Marathon
Speakers: Women’s Running editors and guests.
3–3:45 p.m.: Rising Above Hardships: aka R.A.H.
