Join Women’s Running in partnership with Rising Hearts in an online safety workshop with Kola.

Native American women are seven times more likely to go missing or murdered than any other ethnicity. This self-defense and safety training will cover physical defense, as well as mindset and emotional support for women and female-identifying runners. In addition to practical safety tips and planning practices, we’ll examine the politics of safety and running so that every runner can feel empowered and equipped to run safely. This workshop offers a practical and hands-on approach to the safety concerns of female runners.

“Rising Hearts is committed to creating safe spaces for all communities. As an organization that cares so much about supporting the families of missing and murdered Indigenous peoples, the survivors and advocates, the sense of safety and right as a human, intersects with the running and outdoor community,” says Jordan Whetstone, founder of Rising Hearts.  We have a right to feel safe. We are excited to collaborate with Kola again this year to offer this Safety Planning workshop and has been modified a bit to fit within the running mindset and community. Take action for yourself and with community!”

Participation is limited to 100 participants.

When: 5 PM MST/4PM PST

Where: Zoom webinar platform.
