Laura Hill is from Melbourne, Australia, and we asked her a few questions about running:
Why do you run?
The goal of one day completing an ultra-marathon inspires me to clock up the kilometres each week. With a day job in the corporate world, I love nothing more than lacing up my runners and hitting the pavement to clear my mind and challenge my body.
Describe your favorite place to run.
I love running along Port Phillip Bay in Melbourne. The flat course allows me to run at a fast pace and the view is spectacular. Time goes by when you’re running and looking out to the ocean.

What’s your go-to pre- or post-run meal?
My favorite pre-run meal is a breakfast smoothie of banana, raspberries, chocolate protein powder, chia seeds, milk and a spoon of natural peanut butter. It’s easy to make the night before a long run and delicious.
What makes you a badass?
When I’m going for a training run with my friends and I lie about the halfway point so that we end up running further!

How will you celebrate Global Running Day?
Run, of course! I’ll go for a run after work around Melbourne’s Botanical Gardens track with my running pal. I’ll also be promoting Global Running Day on Instagram and Twitter and I’ll write a post for my blog.
