Why did you start running?
I started running as a way to lose the physical and emotional dead weight I was carrying around. I didn’t like the direction my life was heading, so my mom suggested I start running. I wasn’t good at it. I couldn’t even finish a mile at first, but day by day, I got stronger. Twenty marathons later, running has become so much more than just exercise for me. It’s a way of life.
What makes you go run?
Running isn’t something I have to do; it’s something I want to do. It’s a privilege and a gift life has given me. There has never been a run that I have regretted when I finished. The good runs, the bad ones, the hard ones, the easy ones, fast or slow, solo or with friends—they have made me who I am today. I truly believe the world would be a better place if more people would take that first step and go run!
Fun fact. . .
I’m a mommy of three! I do most of my marathon training pushing my kids in a single, double or triple stroller.
