I started running when I was younger to accompany my mother on her morning jogs. Over time, running has become something very personal. Running gives me small joys and overwhelming peace—sometimes it’s the only solitude I find in this busy, chaotic life.
Running makes me feel healthy, strong, confident and beautiful. Whether I compete in a long-anticipated race, push through a tough run on a rainy day or go for an easy jog while chatting with a friend, completing a run gives me a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment every single time.
I work in a children’s hospital and see the results of tragic events and life-changing circumstances on a daily basis. Running brings me back to a state of mind where I am genuinely appreciative and thankful for what I have and what my body can do.
