Go The Extra Mile

Extra Mile Day—on November 1—was created to honor all of those individuals and organizations who go the “extra mile” to make a difference. Running one won’t hurt either—more miles, more fun!

Fall Back

Daylight Savings Time ends on November 6, which means another hour for everyone running the New York City Marathon to get to the start line!

Rock The Vote

Whether you love a candidate or couldn’t care less, voting is your right as a U.S. citizen. This November 8 marks Election Day; get your “I Voted!” sticker, then lace up to run o the political stress!

Have A Laugh

When the idea of Sadie Hawkins Day (November 15) was launched in the Li’l Abner comic strip in 1937, the concept took hold. By 1939, more than 200 colleges across the country had “chases” (the original form of celebration). A footrace was held in which single women chased after a field of eligible bachelors in hopes of catching a husband or a date. LOL…history.

Cheer For The Collegiates

See teamwork in action at the NCAA Cross Country Nationals on November 18, where the best Division I, II and III collegiate squads compete for top spots on the podium.

Give Thanks

Did you know Thanksgiving Day on November 24 is the most popular road-racing day of the year? That’s because thousands of runners from around the country lace up to run local Turkey Trots. Not only can you burn enough calories to eat an extra slice of pie, you may win a frozen turkey!
