10 Warm-Up Songs To Get You Ready To Work Out

Ease into your next workout with this warm-up playlist full of songs with low tempos to get you into the zone and ready to work.

Warm-up songs generally serve two purposes: their lower tempos help you ease into a workout while their momentum helps you slip into the zone. To provide flexibility, we’ve compiled a few tracks with tempos between 70-90 BPM. They’re ideal for running because they’re roughly half the tempo at which you’d actually run. To that end, they’ll help you get moving. Moreover, once you’re good and loose, you can easily slip into your regular routine by doubling your pace. With the help of these songs, that switch is as simple as taking two steps per beat instead of the one per beat you’d use while warming up.

To vary things further, the list draws from a variety of genres. White Stripes frontman Jack White kicks off the list with a rambunctious instrumental track and pop punk veterans close it out with a track from their most recent album. In the middle, you’ll find a club favorite from Flo Rida, edgy pop from Bea Miller, and aggressive dance from The Glitch Mob. Given the options available, there should be something below that’ll get you moving—slowly at first, then full speed when you’re ready.

Jack White – High Ball Stepper – 85 BPM

Fall Out Boy & Demi Lovato – Irresistible – 83 BPM

The Glitch Mob – Can’t Kill Us – 76 BPM

Aloe Blacc – The Man – 86 BPM

Twenty One Pilots – Stressed Out – 85 BPM

Flo Rida, Sage the Gemini & Lookas – GDFR – 73 BPM

Bea Miller – Dracula – 81 BPM

Shawn Mendes – Treat You Better – 83 BPM

Nothing But Thieves – Trip Switch – 89 BPM

Blink-182 – Bored to Death – 81 BPM
