NCAA runner turned high school coach Hillary Kigar has an answer for things training!
How do I know what to wear on long runs in early spring? It can be close to freezing at the start and then feel balmy after an hour.
Running vests or light jackets that are made with “dry fit” material are great options for fickle weather. They keep your core warm but aren’t too heavy as your body heats up.
Arm sleeves or light gloves can also help with the cold and can be easily tucked into a back pocket if you feel too warm. Depending on your long-run route, you also may want to consider looping your run so that you can swing by your car to drop off extra layers midway through.
