This month, 5 relay teams assembled in Europe with a goal—not only did they have to race against each other, but they also had to beat the sun on the longest day of the year. The ASICS Beat The Sun challenge took runners on an incredible 93 mile course around Mont Blanc that included alpine, trail, and road running segments with extreme uphill and downhills. Each team represented part of the world—Team Americas, Europe-North, Europe-South, Asia-Pacific and Africa—and featured 3 professionals and 3 amateur runners picked in a contest. In an exciting finish, Team Americas beat Team Europe-South by only 4 seconds. Both teams finished in 15 hours and 3 minutes, and were the only ones to also beat the sunset.
