Mount Sanitas

This is my first summer living in Boulder, Colorado,
and I’m still learning all that the area has to offer in terms of outdoor recreation.
One new discovery is Mount Sanitas – a strenuous three mile trail barely a
stone’s throw from Boulder’s
bustling downtown.

Portions of the trail are suited to running, however some
sections require mountain-goat-style rock climbing skills. Although it’s a
challenging climb, the views and serenity at the top make the effort well
worthwhile. Mount Sanitas is a welcome resource for Boulder locals needing a post-workday
head-clearing excursion. It’s also ideal as a weekend workout for visitors –
head up in the morning and then treat yourself to a leisurely après hike lunch
at one of the many great restaurants in town.
