Fun times with speed work! I ran intervals on the treadmill this evening. Man, they were tough. After three miles easy, I transitioned into intervals: 800 meters at 6:24/mile pace, then 400 meters at 10:00/mile pace. I
I remember completing this workout in my last marathon cycle and running sub-3:00 for each interval, so it’s a little bit discouraging to see that my fitness isn’t quite where it used to be. The clock doesn’t lie. . .but I hope that my fitness will come around soon.
I want to know. . .do you do speed work during marathon training or do you stick with long distances?
