It’s Who We Are…

Today I wore one of
my favorite tops, one which, no matter where I go, always generates a batch of
positive comments. It’s really just a simple, semi-fitted, super-soft
long-sleeve tee that I bought a few years back at the Big Sur Marathon expo. It’s
basic black, but it bears a colorful message – on the front, “marathon girl” –
on the back, “it’s who we are, it’s what we do.” It’s a product of California based apparel
company Running Divas, makers of casual wear inspired by and for women runners.

I decided to pay a
visit to the Divas website, and was greeted by a fresh new crop of designs.
Again, the tops are all fairly simple tanks and tees, but their messages show a
sweet and sassy playfulness. Phrases such as “freakishly strong,” “flaunt it”
and “high mileage” rest demurely in small font across the chest, with follow-up
messages in the rear view.

The accompanying
bottoms include skirts and skorts, yoga pants and adorable short-shorts, all
with their own subtly printed messages. And if you’re a bit more daring,
Running Divas also offers a line of intimates, including camis, hot pants, boy
briefs and thongs. It’s a bit hard to resist the temptation of a camistating,
“let’s play track,” or a sweet little panty labeled “marathong.”

So whether you’re
headed to the gym, the grocery store, a girlfriend’s sleepover or a setting
that’s a bit more seductive, Running Divas has the girlie-duds to cover your
back (or various other parts).
