We know you’ll fall in love with this week’s Women’s Running magazine Blogger On The Run- Julie from Peanut Butter Fingers! As a freelance writer and fitness enthusiast, Julie inspires her readers with work-out ideas and delicious recipes several times a day (plus, she often features her adorable dog, Sadie!). We think Julie is super cute and hope you enjoy getting to know her below:

We love Julie from Peanut Butter Fingers!

WR: How would you describe yourself?

J: I am a 27-year-old freelance writer and blogger, navigating life in Ocala, Florida with my husband and our crazy dog (who can run 12+ miles!). My blog, Peanut Butter Fingers, is a lighthearted website that I update several times a day with my workouts, favorite recipes and random life musings. It’s a lot of fun!

We love a girl who knows how to laugh at herself!

WR: How did you begin running?

J: I am not a natural runner. Running isn’t easy for me. I don’t put on my running shoes and go out for a run expecting the experience to be easy breezy. No matter what my running pace – whether I’m running a race and giving it my all, or telling myself to take it easy on a long run – running is hard work!

When I graduated from college, I found myself in a full-time job that wasn’t very demanding or stimulating. While this may sound like a blessing (and having a job is!), it also left me feeling unfulfilled and in need of a challenge.

I began looking into running races, thinking that running a 5K might provide me with a decent challenge. I made it my goal to run the 3.1 miles non-stop in August 2007. By the end of the year I completed my first half marathon and have run a handful of half marathons since!

Running is a family affair. Here's Julie with her sister and mom!
WR: What keeps you running and training?

J: My dog! I have a 4-year-old vizsla who aboslutely loves to run and can run circles around me! Seeing her little, wiggly body freak out when I grab her leash definitely motivates me to run. I also enjoy training for races and find that I do some of my best distance running when I have a half marathon on the books.

WR: What’s your favorite race memory?

J: Last November my husband and I ran a sub two hour half marathon. Accomplishing this goal felt unreal and running the whole race with my husband by my side is something I’ll never forget.

Julie's husband, Ryan, is a runner too!
WR: What do you hope your readers will get from reading your blog?

J: I simply hope people read Peanut Butter Fingers and that it makes them smile. If my blog can make someone’s day a little brighter, I’m a happy camper.

WR: Best running advice you’ve received or given?

J: “It’s okay to be uncomfortable.”
