We’re excited to introduce you to an inspiring runner and author who encourages us all to get a healthy dose of carrots while still enjoying an occasional cupcake. Check out our latest Women’s Running magazine Blogger On The RunTina from Carrots ‘N’ Cake! This busy writer began running to stay fit and relieve stress after graduating from collegiate soccer. Read on to find out how Tina turned her blog into a full time job:

Tina’s go-to-strategy- always have a race on the books!

WR: How would you describe yourself?

T: Published author, health blogger, Fitfluential ambassador, marathoner, CrossFit addict, pug lover, iced coffee enthusiast.

WR: How did you get into blogging?

T: I wanted to stay on track with healthy eating and exercise in preparation for my wedding day, so I started a blog to record my progress. I also wanted all of my recipes and workout in one place. Carrots ‘N’ Cake was just a personal online journal and then it grew into a full-time job– and a book!

If you like Tina’s blog, check out her book!

WR: What keeps you running and training?

T: A few things: always having a race on my calendar, my friends (many of them are runners too), and DailyMile (I love recording my runs on there).

WR: What’s your favorite race memory?

T: I absolutely loved running the New York City Marathon last year. I ran it with a friend, so we had a blast for the entire 26.2 miles. Here’s my recap: http://carrotsncake.com/2011/11/new-york-city-marathon-recap.html

Getting ready for the 2011 NYC Marathon!

WR: Best running advice you’ve received or given?

T: When you want to stop, remember that you’re stronger than you think you are.

WR: What do you hope your readers will get from reading your blog?

T: Carrots ‘N’ Cake is basically a fun take on leading a healthy lifestyle– eating your carrots and savoring your cupcakes, so I hope my readers find inspiration and few laughs.

We love a girl who smiles while she runs!
