I missed my water run on Saturday, so substituted it for today’s assigned swim – a happy medium of listening to my coach and fitting training into the family schedule.
This pool run was different because I was in the shallow end for weight bearing running — finally! All kids were in the lap lanes for swim team practice, so I upped my effort by running upstream in the lazy river. It provided a fun opportunity to work on form because unless I had a forward lean and fast foot turnover, I was off my feet and going on a backwards float around the loop. The workout also had several series of leg lifts, hops and side steps for good hip mobility.
Ran for about an hour.
