Open Sesame
Chock-full of calcium, iron and magnesium (good for your bones, blood, nerves and more), sesame seeds deliver a lot of what women need. So sprinkle them liberally on a salad or a stir-fry, use them like breadcrumbs to encrust fish or eggplant or make your own tahini. Simply toast 1 cup of seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat (stirring frequently) and then blend them in a food processor with 3 Tbsp. of olive oil until the consistency is smooth. A staple in Greek, Middle Eastern and East Asian cooking, sesame seed paste can be used to make hummus, added to a salad dressing or smothered on noodles. Yes, please!
