Use your favorite seasonal fruit—or frozen berries—to amp up your morning toast.
Makes about 2 cups
- 5 cups berries (raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and strawberries, fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup chia seeds
- 1/2 tsp. lemon or lime juice, optional
Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then simmer for around 20 minutes, stirring frequently. Leave some fruit chunks or blend to make it smooth. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks.
