A Grown Up Version Of A Childhood Popsicle Favorite

Remember rocket pops? This recipe will be even better than the classic.

What better way to cool down after a hot summer run than with a frozen treat? This homemade version of a rocket pop delivers nutrition and nostalgia. Our Cherry Red, White and Blueberry Pops are made with tart cherry juice, vanilla yogurt and blueberry juice (strained puréed blueberries with water). This trifecta of ingredients is perfect for runners, since cherries are proven to decrease recovery time and muscle pain, yogurt is a good source of protein and blueberries are high in antioxidants that can boost cardiovascular health. We made ours with the Onyx Ice Pop Mold ($40, onyxcontainers.com), which has ridges to mark each third, so they are easy to fill. Just freeze each layer separately (starting with cherry juice) to keep the layers clear.
