Beyoncé Is Latest Celeb To Launch An Athleisure Line

Queen B joins the ranks of other celebrities that are joining the active lifestyle movement.

Now girls really can run the world.

Named after her daughter, Blue Ivy, the Queen B herself launched Ivy Park on March 31, an athleisure apparel line focusing on leggings, headbands and bodysuits. Following her partnership with Topshop, announced in 2011, the 200-piece clothing collection is a joint effort with Sir Philip Green, owner of Topshop. The high-end items will go on sale April 14 at stores around the world.

Beyoncé has more than 65 million followers on Instagram, and she’s one of the most influential, widely recognized celebrity singers in the world. This announcement of her new line of clothing comes barely two months after she dropped her latest, most buzzed about music video and single, “Formation,” barely two months after she delivered a mic drop halftime show performance at the Super Bowl and barely two months after announcing her tour, which is already sold out in most locations. Needless to say, this will probably be the year of Bey.

“When I have to conquer those things, I still go back to that park. Before I hit the stage, I go back to that park. When it was time for me to give birth, I went back to that park. The park became a state of mind. The park became my strength,” she said, according to NBC News, regarding the short video that shows the singer performing in some of the clothing in a park in her hometown of Houston.

The mega star follows in the footsteps of Carrie Underwood, with her CALIA line, and Kate Hudson, who owns Fabletics. She hopes the new line, which features edgy designs backed by that attitude that makes Beyoncé, well, Beyoncé, will encourage women to love their bodies and curves.
