RUNNING ON SUNSHINE
Nestled in Methow Valley, a mixture of paved roads, deer paths and bike trails welcome racers in the Sunflower Trail Marathon & Relay, which runs through meadows carpeted with yellow blooms. Tackle the tough course solo or grab your buddies and enter the relay event, where teams of two to five divide and conquer.

With bluebonnets, black-eyed Susans and poppies galore, there’s no shortage of blossoms in the Texas Flower Country Women’s 5K and 10K. Set on the flat trails of Wildseed Farms, this race sends runners through wildflower fields and ends with a champagne brunch, complete with on-site shopping at Lantana Nursery.

Want to make your race a weekend affair? Check out the Keizer Iris Fun Festival, which includes a race of every distance (marathon, half, 10K and 5K), plus a community parade and carnival. Each race offered takes runners through 200 acres of blooming iris and awards finishers with a purple blossom.

Make a wish and puff away at the Dandelion Half Marathon and 10K. Runners will be tempted to pick one of the millions of golden buds lining the course. Continue the country inspiration with bluegrass music played at each aid station as you fiddle your way to the finish.

Channel your inner mountain momma at the Fear the Deer Trail Half Marathon. This race challenges with 2,800 vertical feet of elevation gain and rocky terrain—and rewards with forest flowers and mountaintop views. Soothe post-race legs at the healing waters of nearby Indian Hot Springs.
