This month, Spartan Race, the popular obstacle challenge series, announced their “fittest bride” competition, with the grand prize being a free wedding reception. The showdown between registered runaway brides will take place on Oct. 17-18 at Riverside Farm in Pittsfield, Vt. The crowned winner will receive an all-expenses-paid reception at the race venue, which features six restored barns, more than 700 acres of land and full organic farm. Oh, and Riverside Farms is one of the most high-end, exclusive nuptial venues in Vermont.

Interested brides, who are required to be either engaged or planning to be married by summer 2016, can apply at the race’s website by providing a letter about themselves and a photo. A maximum of 100 woman will be accepted, and the entire event, happening in the afternoon of Oct. 18, will be televised.

“We are excited to invite brides-to-be from our global Spartan community, to come up to Vermont to compete in our newest challenge,” stated Spartan Race Founder and CEO Joe De Sena.  “With so many phenomenal women competitors who come out to each of our races, we thought this would be a perfect way to help celebrate those who will be tying the knot. As always, we’ll be putting them through a true test of grit and determination to ultimately decide who is the fittest of them all, and who wants it most!”

The Grand Prize winner, which is the fastest contestant to complete the mountain course, of the Spartan Fittest Bride Challenge will receive a reception for up to 100 guests, with gourmet food included. Free lodging for bride and groom, as well as six guest, will also be included.
