Slice of Heaven
The New York City Pizza Run provides thin crust lovers a unique way to pay tribute. Runners take on a 2.25-mile run complete with three stations, where runners must eat an entire slice. Stuffed winners receive gift certificates to eateries around the city, though being named Pizza Champion is definitely a sufficient award.

Achin’ for Bacon
For those who are firm believers that everything is better with bacon, the Race for the Bacon 5K will leave you more than satisfied. Not only is there a bacon aid station located halfway through the course and a Bacon Bash at the finish with bacon-themed treats to sample, but runners also receive a box of the smoked pork treat upon crossing the line. The 5K takes place in a town founded by meat-packing mogul Patrick Cudahy, whose company is famous for its strips.

Sweat and Beers
Shiner beer is a Texas institution, and it flows during the post-race celebration at the Shiner Beer Run 5K, accompanied, of course, by brisket barbecue. The 5K coincides with the only day of the year that Shiner-maker Spoetzl Brewery offers tours on a Sunday—or a Saturday, for that matter—so this little town of 2,070 definitely gets its share of visitors on race weekend.

I Can Mash Potato
Seattle has taken the traditional Thanksgiving race to a whole new level, because who needs turkey when you can have mashed potatoes? The Greenlake Gobble & Mashed Potato Munch-Off includes a 10K and 5K and ends with a competitive eating contest. From a raffle-style entry, eight contestants are chosen to see who can eat the most mashed potatoes in four minutes. Winner earns the raffle moola and a lifetime 5K comp entry!
