Timex ONE Relay from Chicago to New York

Find out about Timex's One Relay from Chicago to New York to support many great causes.

On October 9th, Timex launched their Timex ONE Relay, a 800 mile, 22-day journey featuring more than 100 runners and spanning the distance between the Chicago and NYC Marathons.  The relayed kicked off in Chicago, a few days before the city hosted the marathon. This endeavor aims to celebrate the inspirational stories of everyday runners and support a variety of worthy causes that will be chosen by the relay participants, including Back On My Feet, Every Woman Counts, Girls on the Run, Team Red White and Blue, and more. For every mile traveled between Chicago and New York, Timex will donate $100 to one of those designated charities.

Throughout the relay, various runners will be sharing why they started running and how they stay inspired. Three of the women participating in the Timex One Relay are Jacqui Rick, Krista Foy, and Tricia Quartey.

Jacqui began running to get through the challenges of graduate school, but continued throughout her life, even after becoming a mom of two daughters. After experiencing the unity and strength of competing in an all women’s only half marathon, she decided to run in support of Girls on the Run.

Krista Foy’s began her running journey to cope with the passing of her father due to a massive heart attack. During the Timex ONE Relay, she will be running in support of the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Tricia Quartey grew up competing in track, but realized as an adult that running could be a unique way to raise funds for organizations and causes that she is passionate about supporting. She’ll be running for Autism Speaks during the relay, before her first full marathon in November, the New York City Marathon.

You can track the progress of the runners through the interactive map at The runners will be using the Timex Ironman One GPS+ smartwatch as their baton, which allows followers to track the relay progress in real time. Through the website, messages of support and encouragement can also be send via text that will show up on their smartwatch.
