Handfuls of Fourth of July-themed events took place around the country this year, with runners and walkers rocking their best red, white and blue look to celebrate our nation’s birthday. The Scripps Ranch Old Pros Fourth of July Run and Ride brings in hundreds of runners to race around neighborhood streets and popular Miramar Lake in San Diego every year. The run, which celebrated its 38th year, includes a 10K and 2-mile fun run, but all runs end in Hoyt Park, home to one of the most popular beer gardens of any race hosted in America’s Finest City. This is truly a local event, with a start line literally on a small neighborhood street and announcers posted on a driveway. There was no shortage of patriotism this year, as many participants were moving American flags during their 6.2-mile journey around the Scripps Ranch area. Check out this fun, festive photos from the event. Photos: Courtesy of Scripps Ranch Old Pros
