You Won’t Believe What This Runner Does After Tripping

When 1,500-meter track star Rachel Schneider fell on her shoulder with only 300 meters left to go, she did the impossible...

Yesterday, Under Armour athlete Rachel Schneider proved that a painful fall can’t keep her down. At the Olympic Track Trials on Thursday, the first round of the women’s 1,500 meters was held. In order to advance to the semifinals, runners finish within a certain place and time during the first round.

With only 300 meters left to go, Schneider was in a great position to qualify when she tripped thanks to a slick track and a tangle of legs. She hit the ground hard and took a nasty fall on her hip and shoulder. A different athlete might have laid on the ground, licking her wounds and letting her Olympic dreams slip away. But not Schneider. This runner defined what it means to be a tenacious competitor when she rolled over, sprung back up and gave it all she had to catch Sarah Brown and advance to the finals. Need a little reminder not to give up when the going gets tough? Check these photos, captured by photographer Justin Britton, and be in awe.
