After her Super Bowl LI performance, people took to the web to body shame Lady Gaga for her outfits that showed off what they deemed as an ‘unfit body.’
The ‘Born This Way’ singer is known for her symbolism of inclusion and acceptance and luckily she shut down the body shamers quickly with a post on Instagram.
“I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I’m proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too. No matter who you are or what you do. I could give you a million reasons why you don’t need to cater to anyone or anything to succeed. Be you, and be relentlessly you. That’s the stuff of champions. thank you so much everyone for supporting me. I love you guys. Xoxo, gaga”
She later appeared on the Ryan Seacrest Show on KISS-FM to talk about her decision to speak out, sharing that she saw it was upsetting her fans so she wanted to insert some positivity into the discussion. You can listen to the full interview here.
