For The Spiders We See On The Morning Run

A poem about who you may or may not find on a morning run.

alexi morning

Most days

you are the first out

the one with the wild arms

even before the sun

can offer a ray to you.

But today

you stayed in

slept— that’s fine.

I guess you could say

morning runner

your absence saved the spider web.
