Why Running Makes Us Cry Big Kid Tears

In her latest poem, Alexi Pappas explains why running through tears isn't always a bad thing.

Big Kid

With running

I cry in public

as much as a kid.

But now

it is

as often happy as sad

which is what makes big kid tears

sweeter and also more sour

courser and also more fragile

more crystal

more layered

than little kid salt.
