Olympian Brenda Martinez knows a thing or two about dedication to your goals—she literally dove to the line to make the 2016 Rio team!
That Outfit Though
The New Balance-sponsored runner had a plethora of shoes and outfits to choose from, and everyone unanimously loved her cover look, all from newbalance.com: Precision Run Jacket ($200), Accelerate Hot Short ($30) and Fresh Foam 1080v7 ($150).
Live High
Although she’s traveled all over the world to compete, Brenda calls the small town of Big Bear Lakes, Calif., home and breathes easy in the thin air at 6,700 feet.
Money Shot
The team moved around to a few familiar running spots to get the perfect shot. Fun fact: The water behind Brenda is a lake that hasn’t been there in years—it formed due to the drought-ending California rain over this winter!
That’s What She Said
We expressed our gratitude for Brenda’s patience and professionalism, and she immediately exclaimed, “You guys are so easy to work with! This is fun!”
Team Brenda
After a full day of running around (literally), Brenda was still all smiles for a final group shot. From left: videographer Ryan Sheehy, photo assistant Renee Wymer, Brenda, web editor Caitlyn Pilkington, hair-and-makeup artist Lavonne Anthony and photographer Alain Mitchell.
