On a hot day in Los Angeles, KARINA SMIRNOFF strolled into the studio wearing oversized sunglasses and an even bigger smile. The Dancing With the Stars performer soon shed her black maxi dress and gold sandals, slipped on running gear and got into the groove.
WORK IT, GIRL!
New York-based photographer James Weber shot Karina as she struck a pose at The Edge Grip Studio in Los Angeles.
Top 40 hits from Katy Perry and Bruno Mars provided background sound during the shoot—but Karina says she only listens to “hard-core hip-hop and gangster rap” when she runs.
GET THE LOOKS
Karina rocked two different looks during the shoot including one for the cover and one that she wore to share her favorite dance-inspired workout!

Karina’s favorite crew member was the studio’s resident bulldog, Knife. An animal activist and PETA proponent, the dancer owns a rescue pitbull named Randy.
When the shoot wrapped, the crew posed in a can-can line. Only Karina and the photographer were brave (or flexible) enough to do the high kicks, but everyone was ready to celebrate after a long morning at the studio.
