Twig

See where
the socks hug the ankles
that is the place
where earth sneaks in

finds and hides
in your kingdom of toes
hoping to go
somewhere new on this ride.

At your finishing place
you remove your shoes
fish out of socks
the twigs who intrude

place them down
do not be sad
you were the best taxi
a twig ever had.
