We’ve all heard stretching is important, but everyone has a different opinion on the proper way to stretch. Let us set the record
NCAA runner turned high school coach Hillary Kigar has an answer for all things training, gear and nutrition for runners of all experience levels.
Some people like to run without socks, and others even run without shoes! However, you put your skin at risk for blisters or other irritations when there is little to protect you from the rough fabric of the shoe. Rather than go without socks, spend some time and a few extra dollars investing in high-quality socks. While regular cotton socks are affordable in large quantities, it’s worth it to do laundry a little more often, and buy specialty running socks that are specifically designed to keep your feet cool and prevent rubbing. Look for socks that have a blend of nylon and spandex, as these light materials will help with overheating. There are even some light wool running socks that are specifically designed to keep your feet cool and not too smelly.
