Nat Runs Far shares a peach and mozzarella skewers recipe that serves as a great post-run snack or appetizers for your next dinner party.

Now that summer is officially here, it’s time to enjoy the amazing fruit that comes along with the season. The peak peach season has arrived–what better way to celebrate than with a simple but beautiful appetizer before a summer night’s dinner?

As runners, we love to eat. The prettier the food is, the more exciting it is to indulge (and maybe share on the ‘gram).

For this recipe, the ingredients are minimal (black peppercorns, sea salt, fresh mozzarella, 1 lime, 1 bunch of fresh basil, extra virgin olive oil and 1 fresh peach).

Grate 1 lime for zest…

Mix the lime zest with olive oil, a pinch of salt and mozzarella balls…

Cut one ripe peach into pieces…

Assemble the skewers with the mozzarella balls, a fresh basil leaf and one piece of peach. Drizzle with a bit of olive oil and a sprinkle of sea salt and fresh cracked pepper…

Voila! Sit back with a glass of wine and enjoy!

These skewers are a great treat after a long run and perfect for your Fourth of July festivities.

Happy eating and running!
