Every workout should begin with a warm-up! The goal of a warmup is to gradually increase your heart rate and the blood flow to your muscles. The exercises you choose should include movements similar to those of the activity you will be completing. By doing so, you decrease your chance of sustaining an injury.
Spend approximately five to 10 minutes completing your warm-up. You should begin to breathe harder and feel warmer as your body prepares for more intense exercise.
Start with light cardiovascular activity (jogging, cycling, jump-rope, etc.), and then incorporate dynamic exercises (as shown in the video above) with a few static stretches towards the end.
